Memorial Day Franks… Woodchuck style!

HOT DIGGITY DOG! It’s time to get the weekend started and officially kick off BBQ season. That means cheesy burgers, savory steaks, and good ol’ franks! A fail safe with most crowds, hot dogs are quick and easy. Even though many have their preferred garnish, why not add a little pep to the summer staple? Step right up with Memorial Day franks, Woodchuck® style! Perfect to prep the night before, and a delicious addition to the menu.


  • One bottle of Woodchuck Hard Cider (we suggest Gumption!)
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Half a sliced onion
  • 1 cup of sliced mushrooms
  • 1 ziplock bag


Night before prep…

Find your preferred Woodchuck® Hard Cider with our Locator (we suggest Gumption!), and enjoy a bottle. Because, why not?

Take your hot dogs and make several slits down the length. Feel free to get creative (just not too carried away so they don’t fall apart).

In a zip lock bag, combine all ingredients, including the hot dogs. Throw in the fridge to sit over night (make sure the bags laying flat so all hot dogs are covered in the marinade), and enjoy one more cider! You just finished the BBQ prep, you deserve it.

BBQ Time…

 Take the dogs and and veggies out of the bag, and stick the veggies in tinfoil. Stick on the grill and let steam for about 20 minutes. When ready, grill the dogs as usual!
