Ciderbration 2014

As we reach the end of another year, it’s time to take a look back at what came with 2014. Here at Woodchuck®, it’s a time to reflect on the goals we set, the ones we accomplished, and how we’ve grown as a company. As for our 2014? Let’s just say it was quite the KICK-ASS year!

Let’s take a look…

We set out at the beginning of the year to finish the construction on our new cidery right here in Middlebury, Vermont. Over the span of 15 months, our Woodchuck Community, including many incredible local companies, poured their blood, sweat and tears into deepening our roots with this new cidery. Take a look at the progress we documented along the way.

With a brand new cidery, why not shake it up with a brand new look? As we knew our innovative styles were dialed in, we wanted to highlight our new home on the packaging. Craft cider made in a REAL cidery! The rebranding of our packaging was a big undertaking, and in the end, we are thrilled with how it now looks.

Now, with our new cidery, and sharp new look, it was time to show it off. As the winter transitioned into spring, and our annual Earth Week Campaign got underway, we started planning a party. It started small… but slowly grew. One band? Nah. Let’s get four.

A backyard party quickly turned into what would be known as… Woodchuck Ciderbration™.

With four bands including Dr. Dog and Dirty Heads, and over 10 cider styles on tap, we didn’t know what to expect. Would the fans be into it? The response blew us away. More than 10,000 tickets were reserved online in just a few months! The Ciderbration™ was a gift to not only our team, but our fans and wholesalers. As the tickets were free, we didn’t know how many people would show up on the big day. We think this video answers that question pretty well:

Ciderbration put a cap on one heck of a summer for the Woodchuck family. Our fans are the best in the business. However, the pace of ribbons cuttings and big parties didn’t slow us down. With Pick for your Neighbor, and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we worked hard to continue giving back to both our local and national communities. As for our Cider Makers? Those wheels went into overdrive back in the cellar. With each month they were mixing up batches of the most unique ciders, which let us close the year on a high note with our latest creation. Woodchuck Out on a Limb™.

So as we look back on this 2014, it’s hard to reminisce without a big smile. At Woodchuck, we don’t just take pride in our cider, but in our incredible fans. To all of our fans, our wholesalers, our retailers, and community partners, you have made everything from this year possible. Thank you for supporting us since 1991, and in the years to come.

‘Chuckin Cheers, and we can’t wait to see you in 2015!
