The time has come and gone, and wow was it epic. The official Grand Opening of our Cidery, the gathering of our fans from far and wide, and an event that lit up Middlebury with enthusiasm and live music. Not to repeat our selves, but MAN was it epic.
And the stats are in…
9,813 FANS who rocked out.
157 KEGS of Woodchuck® Cider poured.
Last time we promise… EPIC! Let’s take a look at what happened.
It’s hard to believe that after four years of plotting and planning, our new cidery is finally open to the public. It has been quite a thrill to see fans walk through the doors of the Cider House and have a space to sample cider while learning all there is to know about Woodchuck®.
It took 15 months to complete construction. One of the reasons why: most everything in the cidery was handcrafted. From the cider tanks to the bottling line to the cider house timber frames, everything was constructed with the utmost care and used the finest materials we could find. 45 different Vermont companies were contracted to help us build what we think is the finest cidery in the United States.
Just a few days left until the event we have been planning for over a year! The kegs are ready to be tapped, the lots are ready to be filled, and that grass is ready for some dancing shoes! As you start to finalize those plans, make sure to take a look at this HOW-TO Guide for the Ciderbration. We’ve put together all the essentials together to make sure your day is as FANTASTIC and fluid as possible.
We’ll be shuttling fans from lots all over Middlebury to and from the Ciderbration! The map below, (Download it here!), tells you exactly where you can park and catch the cider shuttle! Just remember your line color and lot number and you’ll be all set at the end of the night.
TIP: We STRONGLY suggest carpooling. It will make parking easier for you, and the other fans joining the event!
There WILL also be a handicapped parking lot at the cidery, and bike racks in front of the event entrance!
We don’t want to admit it, but the seasons are starting to change up here in Vermont.
While we are technically still in the dog days of summer, early mornings are starting to require a bit more than a t-shirt. As for the trees in our parking lot? Well they’re starting to turn! ===>
As we notice these subtle changes, we also see those seasonal craft brews trickle onto store shelves. For us here at the cidery, that means it’s time for Woodchuck® Fall Harvest to start filling the tanks. The exact same recipe you remember from previous years, reminiscent of apple pie, this style puts a tasty spin on our cider with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of white oak. Can you say… autumn in a bottle? Yum!
There’s a reason we’re setting down our roots here in Vermont. With over 100 Vermonters working in the new cidery, we definitely have the green mountain vibe going on. If you had to describe Vermont in hashtags, it would look a little something like this… #802 #iLoVermont #LakeChamplain #CamelsHump #champlives #Creemee #WOODCHUCKCIDER. Recognize those? Well then maybe it’s time to test yourself. Tally how many of the following you would say yes to, and determine how much of a Vermonter you really are!
You know you’re a Vermonter if…
